ABOUT SHERRY B DESSERT STUDIO

Named one of the “Best Cookie Bakeries in the Country” by The Food Network and featured as one of O, The Oprah Magazine’s “favorite things” in 2017, Sherry B Dessert Studio’s flagship resides in the heart of New York City’s Meatpacking District.  Led by Pastry Chef and Owner, Sherry Blockinger, the studio welcomes dessert enthusiasts from around the world.

Combining her love for American desserts and her refined French technique, Sherry reinterprets classic desserts from scratch in the studio’s state-of-the-art kitchen. From her signature ice cream cake sandwiches to stuffed brownies; from hand-cut marshmallows to home-made ice cream sundaes; as well as the “cookie bar” featuring 10 melt-in-your-mouth cookies and 11 delectable fillings to mix and match into your own creation, there is something for every sweet tooth. The studio also offers Sherry’s savory snack menu and a thoughtfully curated wine list.  With comfortable interior and exterior seating areas the studio warmly welcome guests to linger and enjoy.  Most dessert offerings are available to go in custom gift boxes and ship nationwide through the studio’s website.

ABOUT SHERRY

While pursuing her degree in Communications at Purdue University, Sherry first discovered her culinary interests.  She regularly returns to Purdue as a guest lecturer. Sherry’s early career included time as a reporter, advertising executive and brand manager for a Fortune 500 company.  Following the birth of her daughter, she earned her Grand Diplôme in Pastry Arts at the French Culinary Institute in New York and a subsequent degree in restaurant management at the Institute of Culinary Education.  Shortly thereafter Sherry developed the “studio” concept allowing her to combine her years of creative experience with her culinary skills.  Her first location opened in New York’s Hudson Valley in 2012 and moved in 2018 to the Meatpacking District which straddles New York City’s West Village and Chelsea neighborhoods.

Sherry splits her time between homes in Katonah, New York, and the West Village with her husband, Jeff, daughter, Jocelyn, and two rescue dogs, Lily and Tex. She enjoys traveling and entertaining in her free time and is an avid music lover, having studied drums and percussion for many years. Among other charitable interests and activities, Sherry serves as a Trustee for Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York.
